A Move from NAV 2016 to Dynamics Business Central for a London-Based Property Firm

A privately held property company in London, known for its extensive portfolio of commercial and residential properties, sought to modernise its financial operations.

With a dedicated team of professionals experienced in the property industry, the company aimed to improve performance and reduce infrastructure costs associated with its existing system.​

The company was operating on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016, managing 36 branches. Despite the NAV database being only 15GB in size, the firm recognised the potential for cost savings and performance enhancements through system modernisation.

Implementing a more advanced finance system within the current NAV setup posed challenges, particularly due to performance issues arising from the number of branches and users.

Additionally, the use of Continia Document Capture and Continia Web Approval presented complexities during migration.​

To address these objectives, the company partnered with Mercurius IT to transition from NAV 2016 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The migration plan included the implementation of Continia Web Approval and Continia Document Capture within the new system.

Given the limited number of existing cases of such migrations, Mercurius IT conducted extensive research and development to ensure a smooth transition.​

The successful migration led to several benefits for the company. Performance improved significantly, resolving the slowness previously caused by the large number of companies and users in the NAV setup.

Infrastructure costs were reduced, aligning with the company’s goal of cost efficiency. The new finance system offered enhanced functionality that was previously difficult to implement, and the migration of Continia Document Capture and Continia Web Approval was effectively accomplished, ensuring continuity in operations.​
