Newitts was born in 1902 when Frank Newitt opened a leather wholesaler on York’s Goodramgate. Since then, the business has thrived on its ability to adapt to the changing market; discontinuing the leather wholesale business to focus solely on sports goods in 1962 and closing the Goodramgate shop to focus on mail order in 1998. Over their 100 year history, Newitts has sold everything from wellies to luggage to handbags alongside their celebrated sporting goods. This agility has allowed them to go from strength to strength, moving from that small shopfront on Goodramgate to a purpose-built 60,000 sq foot headquarters at Claxton Hall. Throughout everything, they’ve retained their passion for delivering high-quality sports goods and equipment to the Great British public.
With a 4th generation of the Newitt family at the helm, Newitts & Co. has become a leading online retailer of sports equipment and sportswear. Their success is underpinned by excellence in order to delivery processes. In 2015, we helped Newitts to upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. With our Safe Passage methodology, they were able to achieve an upgrade that created business value without disrupting day-to-day business. Today, Newitts relies on Microsoft Dynamics NAV to support their ever-growing business.
